Why do we love rain so much around Grand Junction? The same reason we love gold and money - we don't have any. When something is a rare commodity, it tends to gain value.
I don't know about you, but my yard looks like garbage. My trees and shrubs are looking at me and wondering if I'm miserly or just plain stupid.
It's probably unwise to say this, potentially running the risk of being labeled Public Enemy #1, but I'm one of those stingy people who collect their rainwater. Yes, it's a big no-no. Regardless, my trees dig it.
