It's a special weekend in Colorado with free fishing state-wide, so grab your pole and get ready to drown some worms.

Colorado's annual Free Fishing Weekend is Saturday and Sunday, June 3 and 4. This is the one time each year when no fishing license is required, although I would remind you that all other regulations are still in play, such as daily bag limits.

There are a ton of places in Colorado where you can fish, whether it's a lake, pond, river, or stream. Just make sure you aren't on private property. If you have kids you want to take, check out these 101 places to take a kid fishing.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife offers a weekly fishing report, so it might be worth checking to get an idea of where the fish are biting this weekend.

If you are short on fishing gear, check the Salvation Army and Goodwill thrift stores. Quite often they both have inexpensive fishing poles for sale.
