The Grand Junction Police Department has been unable to identify suspects in an arson attempt at a home in Grand Junction. They're asking for assistance from residents who may have information that can help.

The arson happened on Saturday, July 1 just before 7 p.m. in the 200 block of Whispers Lane. The suspects started a fire near the southwest corner of the garage.

The damage from the fire may have been extensive except the home's automatic sprinkler system started. The sprinklers contained and then extinguished the fire.

If you have any information that might help the Grand Junction Police Department find the people responsible for this fire, you are asked to make a report to Crime Stoppers of Mesa County at 970-241-7867.

All reports are anonymous and if the information leads to an arrest can earn the person who provided the information a cash reward of up to $1,000.
