Imagine walking into your home after a night out, only to be greeted by an intruder who has just broken into your home.

It's scary - even just to think about.

And as scary as the mere thought of somebody breaking into your home might be for you, this was the reality a family in Denver had to face one night earlier this month.

According to KDVR, Holly Hatch and her wife Anna Lamers said they were getting ready for bed when they heard someone close the door to their guest bedroom on the night of Oct. 20.

“We knew someone was in the house,” Hatch said. “I heard that door slam, and I just yelled ‘Anna, we need to get out of the house right now.'"

The couple ultimately chose to leave their house and call 911 to report the break-in; they waited in their car nearby until officers arrived at the home.

When police entered the home, they were met with a rather bizarre situation; according to Lamers, police called the family once they were in the home to let them know that there was, in fact, somebody in the house.

“They said, ‘Yeah, we found a woman in your bathtub, taking a bath, with a glass of wine,'” Lamers said.

KDVR said the couple believes they had left their Denver home on Oct. 20, the unidentified woman entered through their doggy door before getting to the family's guest room.

They believe the intruder went into the kitchen and poured a small glass of wine, before running a bath for herself.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital after the incident for evaluation, as per reports from Denver Police.

Here's where the story goes from scary to just sad:

After further investigation into the incident, Lamers and Hatch believe the woman was experiencing homelessness and decided not to press charges.

“It kind of went from sheer terror, to feeling kind of sad. I mean, she just wanted a bath,” Lamers said. “Hopefully she got some of the help that she needs.”

Rather than press charges, the Denver family is now warning their local community about the strange, yet scary occurrence.

Tiny Home in Denver is Anything But Small

At first glance, this Denver home on the outside looks small, but there is a lot of living space in these four walls.

I Just Flew Out Of DIA - And It Wasn't As Bad As You Might Think

Denver International Airport (DIA) has been the talk of the town (ok, more like the talk of the entire state) these last few weeks, and not for good reasons.

It just so happens that I had travel plans of my own this week, which involved me flying out of DIA; after reading, hearing, and blatantly seeing just how brutal security lines at the airport have recently been, I naturally started to expect the worst.

In true fashion, however, I couldn't have been more wrong. Based on my very recent travel experience, I think there could be some relief in sight for those flying traveling in and out of Denver International Airport.
