Mesa County Valley School District 51 has received over $78,000 in grants and donations to help feed District 51 students.

District 51 recently announced some incredible news. According to the School District 51 Foundation's Facebook, D51F has received over $78,000 in grants and donations.

District 51 is extremely grateful for all of the grants and donations, which will go toward feeding the students. According to School District 51 Foundation's Facebook:

  • D51F has received a $25,000 grant from the Western Colorado Community Foundation #GJstrong Fund
  • $25,000 from the Colorado COVID Relief Fund Grant

District 51 also received over $28,000 from 'generous community donors.' All of the money will go toward feedings students and cover the costs of these programs, according to D51F:

  • Emergency Meal Program
  • Angel Lunch Fund
  • The Lunch Lizard

It's amazing how our community comes together in times of need. The School District 51 Foundation received all of the grants and donations in the last six months. District 51 also stated how thankful they are for all of the community's support.

District 51 recently announced that all students all D51 will receive free breakfast and lunch because the USDA extended their Free Meals For Kids program. The program is set to run through the end of December or until funding runs out and thanks to the community, District 51 is set.
