Oddly, the act of destroying public bathrooms in Colorado is being seen more and more lately, forcing many of them to close for parts of the day or in some cases, permanently.

Vandals have been causing all kinds of damage to these restrooms, primarily around the Denver area.

Perhaps the most popular means to destroy these bathrooms is via explosives.

While these explosives cause a lot of damage to permanent restrooms, Port-a-Potty restrooms are not just being blown up, but they also catch fire, destroying them beyond repair.

So why is this happening?

Why Are People Destroying Colorado's Public Restrooms?

The Denver Department of Parks and Recreation is typically the body that is forced to deal with these acts of vandalism and has reported that over the past four to five years, instances of this kind of destruction have increased.

Scott Gilmore, the director of the department, blames social media challenges involving the exact kind of destruction we're seeing in Denver for encouraging young Coloradans to wreck the city's public restrooms.
