Colorado State football coach Jim McElwain says he hasn't been contacted about the Louisville head coaching job, although he acknowledged he's flattered that the Rams' quick turnaround has drawn attention.

Speaking at a previously scheduled season-ending news conference Tuesday, McElwain said has hasn't been "personally contacted" when asked if he's had conversations with Louisville.

The Cardinals have an opening after Charlie Strong left to take over at Texas.

McElwain is 12-14 in two seasons at CSU but has the Rams (8-6) on the upswing after guiding them to a victory in the New Mexico Bowl last month.

McElwain is a former assistant coach with the Cardinals (2000-02) and Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich held that same position at Colorado State in the 1990s.
