Colorado Ranked Sixth Worst Drivers in the Nation

Oh, Colorado, why do you always fall tops on the worst lists? According to Car Insurance Comparison, Colorado is ranked the sixth-worst drivers in the nation.

This really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. Just look at all the damaged cars driving around. Maybe the fact that not one person uses a blinker. Stop signs? More like a suggestion.

Car Insurance Comparison recently published a study of the worst drives in the U.S. based on the following:

• The fatality rate per every 100 million vehicle miles traveled
• Failure to obey traffic laws including safety devices, seat belt, and invalid driver’s license
• Careless driving – number of pedestrian and bicyclist fatalities per state
• Drunk driving – number of roadway deaths caused by drunk drivers
• Speeding – number of traffic fatalities caused by motorists violating speeding laws

Out of the 10 states on the list, 50% of them were west of the Mississippi River. Nevada hit the list at number 10 and the worst state of them all is New Mexico.

Colorado's mid-list ranking shows us coming in at number three for "Failure to Obey." That consists of my statement that no one uses a blinker, or stops at stop signs. We also have to mention that we top the list for speeding too. That's evident if you've ever spent any time on I-70 or the rural highways.

Maybe Colorado should invest in a refresher course for their drivers.
