An Aspen couple returned to federal court for rigging their daughter's ACT and SAT exams. They're among many involved in the college admissions scandal.

Gregory and Marcia Abbott are among many people involved in the college admissions scandal. Gregory Abbot was the CEO and chairman of the International Dispensing Corporation until he took a leave of absence. Over 50 people have been charged in the college admissions scandal, including actresses Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman.

The Aspen couple paid $50,000 to have a test proctor correct their daughter's ACT exam answers in 2018, according to the Denver Post.

They also paid $75,000 to rig their daughter's SAT subject tests. The couple paid $125,000 to rig their daughter's ACT and SAT exams, and she had no idea about it.

Her parents were trying to fix their daughter's exams to get her into Duke University, which is her mom's alma mater, according to USA Today.

Gregory and Marcia Abbot have already pleaded guilty in May to a single count of fraud and conspiracy, according to the Denver Post. They were scheduled to be sentenced in Boston's federal court today, October 8. Prosecutors are suggesting eight months in prison and a $40,000 fine -- each.

According to a letter to the court, Gregory Abbott stated rigging his daughter's exam scores was wrong and stupid and that he felt genuine remorse about what he did, he also stated:

I share the same sensibilities as most people and, stray as it may sound, identify with the public outrage over my own actions.
