Grand Mesa's Powderhorn Ski Resort be opening this weekend giving skiers and snowboarders a chance to finally hit the slopes at Grand Junction's closest ski area.
Powderhorn's official opening day is a couple of weeks away, but this weekend (December 3-4) the resort is opening the slopes for a season preview event.
With the mild fall weather, it has been hard to think about hitting the slopes. But, attending the Ski Swap will change that and at the same time raise needed funds for the Powderhorn National Ski Patrol.
The spring snowstorms in Colorado have not only added to the snowpack necessary for summer water, but have also given spring skiers some great conditions.
